We finally have our home study paperwork together! Time to print it out and mail it in to Christian Adoption Services... It's a big packet. I'm ready to get it out of my hands and into their hands for sure!
Today we had our orientation phone call with our adoption agency, All God's Children. Now, we have a lot of additional paperwork (like child discipline agreements) to complete in order to continue the process. There's a pic of our paperwork stack!

These are such exciting steps but they do not come for free! Our home study requires a $2,200 check to be submitted with our packet. The paperwork for our adoption process to begin with All God's Children requires a $5,350 payment. We have about 60 days to find the funds for All God's Children, so we are exploring adoption loans. There are no grants available (that we know of) until a family has completed their home study.
It's crazy to me that this is just the beginning of these kind of payments over the next 24 months or so. But, it reminds me that this is not a road we can or should walk alone. We need God to move people's hearts to partner with us!

We are also selling puzzle pieces for $10 each. Three puzzle pieces were purchased just today!! That is so exciting to me! The puzzle piece project is explained on the "Get Involved" page and there is a picture of our puzzle there as well! Each purchased puzzle piece will have the donor's name written on the back to remind our family of all those that contributed to bringing our child home. The Paypal link to purchase a puzzle piece is on the home page of our blog. Any Pure Charity financial contributor will also have a puzzle piece named after them. Please let me know if you contribute to Pure Charity so I can be sure to put your name on a puzzle piece.
Casey Anton, a sweet friend of ours and a "Scentsy" consultant, is generously giving her time and 100% of her profits from her two upcoming Scentsy parties to our adoption fund! One party will be hosted by another dear friend, Lisa Crosby in Indian Trail.
Robyn Lawton, another great friend, is hosting a Scentsy party in Lake Wylie! So, if you are a fan of Scentsy products or need some great Christmas presents let me know. All of these opportunities to give open doors for our child and our family to find each other. All of these give us hope and certainty that God is much bigger than the $40,000 we need to bring our adopted child into our home. Before we become that child's parents, God is already their Father and He already loves them more than we ever can!
