"There's cookies at the front table!!!"

This past weekend was pretty intense! Several very generous families spent time "spring cleaning" their homes and then donated items they wanted to give away to us instead of Goodwill. Their gifts enabled us to have an awesome garage sale as part of our neighborhood-wide yard sale day. When all was said and done, we raised over $1,200 for our adoption! We were so excited... It really brought me tears of joy.

After the yard sale, I drove the girls to Atlanta to meet up with Kevin for the remainder of the weekend as he attended back-to-back ministry conferences. While I drove, something hit me and I cried like a baby--we are blessed with such giving and sacrificial friends!

Kevin was in Atlanta for an entire week, and it just happened to be a very busy weekend. However, even if he had been here we could not have pulled this weekend off without the help of good friends.

First, people donated lots of stuff for us to sell. Then on Wednesday and Thursday morning, friends came over and helped create organized chaos from chaos. Friends brought homemade goodies for our girls to sell at the garage sale. Friday night, 7 people spent the night. We stayed up until 2:30 am working on the garage sale stuff. Then, we all got up at 5:30 am,  and two more friends showed up to help kick off the garage sale.Of course, nobody in that group is lazy--they all have things that keep them busy and don't need another project to fill their time. Who sacrifices for friends that way? Who sacrifices time, energy, SLEEP and their weekend for someone else? People with the love of Jesus in their hearts.

I am so thankful for those who donated items, those who organized things, those who wanted to help but couldn't, the friends who got my girls to their soccer game because I was cleaning up a garage sale and then got Violet dressed for her recital rehearsal so I could come pick her up and take her to the venue. This weekend could not have happened without the help of good friends. This was a perfect example to me of the body of Christ, how it works together and how we need each other. We are humbled once again by generous and sacrificial hearts, willing to set themselves aside to help us move the ball forward. I am still in awe.

Adoption update: Yes, we are waiting... get used to it. Right now we are waiting to get a final approval from Immigration regarding the suitability of our family to adopt a foreign orphan. Our fingerprints have been taken again, and once we get that last approval the final step is sending all of our dossier paperwork to Bulgaria. We are so so close to being on the waiting list! My prayer is to be on that list by the end of May. Please pray that this happens. Bulgaria's Ministry of Justice takes a two-month break in the summer so it would be awesome to get on the list before they take their summer break.

Thank you again for all your prayers and support. We are so grateful for all of you!
