Brief is an understatement...

So, in my last post ALMOST TWO YEARS AGO, I said I was going to start blogging again and it might be brief but worth a shot...brief translated into that one post!  :)  Oh well, same goes here but I have something I kind of want to document.  Since I last posted God has taken us on even more adventures :)!  We are still in NC with our beautiful little girls.  Kevin is now working in the secular world due to some unforeseen things, but that has been a great time to step back and focus on our family and what God has for us.

We are coming up on our 15th year anniversary this year.  We want to do something special as a couple but as a family we want to expand and God has once again brought us to the starting point of adoption.  Prior to having Chloe we started down this path only to discover we could not adopt a young child from Brasil and that support based missionaries are not ideal candidates for adoption. :)

Now we are starting again.  But picking a country is not as easy as it seems.  We love South and Central America, the culture, the people but most of those countries have a pretty long stay when adopting and neither Kevin or I are comfortable being away from the girls that long.  We did see that El Salvador is a possibility but we need to research more.  We also are looking into Eastern Europe after visiting Romania, God really gave us a heart for those people and especially the Roma people.  But, literally two days after talking to an agency about Russia, Russia passed a bill not allowing American's to adopt from there.  So many of the other countries there have longer stays, odd rules or you can only adopt if you have the same heritage.  We don't particularly feel called to Africa or Asia for some reason, although Baby Violet does love her little black baby doll and carries it everywhere! :)  So, we are considering El Salvador, Moldova, Czech Republic (but it's a pilot program), Philippines and Poland.  All are fairly obscure as far as the adoption world goes and not very common, but since when do we take the road most traveled. :)

Now, it's about narrowing down a country and agency and that's not going to be easy.
