This month is Adoption Awareness Month or National Adoption Month! In doing some research on orphans and adoption I ran across this article. I gives you some useful definitions and statistics. The sad part is the numbers are probably underestimated. So read along and see what exactly we are talking about and what we are asking you guys to join us in our adoption adventure!
Next, we have exciting news!! Snowflake Village has accepted our application to be one of their charities for this Christmas season! What this means is if you would like to purchase a live tree, wreath, garland, tree stand or even tree waterer on their website you can support our adoption!
We are so so excited to be able to share this info with you and I was super excited to learn about Snowflake Village and that they were a charity-based organization out there! It was a blessing to get connected to them by our friend Sheri Garren who has a sign business and has made signs for them.
Also, we are super excited to share that our Pizza Man Fundraiser was a great success!! We are so grateful to the owners and workers there. It's great pizza with great people! Thank you to all that came out!
Right now we are waiting for our state and federal clearances to come back so we can finish our homestudy and start the dossier! Hopefully, we will have those a little after Thanksgiving! In the meantime, we are renewing passports and a few other things we need covered before we move forward!
You reserve your tree online at the Snowflake Village website, choose our charity (the Layne Family Bulgarian Adoption), print out your receipt, and when you visit Snowflake Village you get to pick out your tree! It's as simple as that and YES, your purchase helps an orphan. Snowflake Village is located in Steele Creek at Choate and Tryon (a little past Rivergate). The address is 12201 South Tryon St, Charlotte. This is a great way to support us and get something you need for the holiday season!
Fun info about Snowflake Village: They have marshmallows to roast, Santa shows up when December rolls around, there's hot cocoa and it's just a fun place to go!
