A love letter.

Your family
Hey kiddo,

It's almost 2016. It's been 18 months since we officially began doing lots of paperwork and looking for you, but the desire to have you in our family began years before you were ever born. We knew then there was a special reserved place for you in our family.

This year at Christmas, we were thinking of you. We saw the empty spot at the table where you would sit--waiting to be filled, we pictured gifts under the tree that would belong to you and saw the space in the center of the fireplace waiting for an additional stocking. We wonder where you are. We want to know who you are with and what you are doing. Are you happy? Are you healthy? Who holds you when you cry or are sick? What was your Christmas like? What's your favorite color? What do you like to eat?

We are praying that you are loved and cared for until we can find you. We pray God gives you hope that we are looking for you and knowledge that you are special and wanted. We hope you know you are pursued and you are loved. You are one of God's greatest gifts to us and you are already our child. We are eagerly awaiting a face and a name. God chose you for us and us for you! We are already blessed by your presence in our life, even though we have never met. The knowledge of you impacts us before we have even seen you. God has already used you to teach us and grow us as individuals and parents.

When we do find you, we are ready and we are excited. You have a daddy and mommy longing to hold you and love you. You have two sisters that have no clue what it means to have a little brother or another sister, but they are ready to have you here. Just a heads up, Chlo will try to baby you and be your mommy. Violet will probably have issues sharing. But they know you are coming and they talk about you. They get excited about you being here. They pray for you. You have more family, friends and even "fake" aunts and uncles ready to love on you. So many generous and loving people are helping us bring you home.

Getting to you is not easy and it's gonna take some time, but you are so worth the effort and wait. We pray as a family that God protects you and that 2016 is the year we will find each other.

We love you and we are waiting!

Daddy, Mommy and your sisters, Chloe and Violet

Beautiful job, Emily. Gammi & Poppy are looking forward to adding your precious new family member to our growing list of grandchildren: Chloe, Violet and Joseph V. We also have a few extras. Phyllis told me yesterday that Katie says I am just like an extra Mamaw (Did I spell that right?)and I think Logan has said "Willie" is like an extra Papaw. And the last time I talked to Gracie (at Karen's), she surprised us all and just chattered up a storm. Now, her brother, Huck, is a whole different ballgame--we are not that well acquainted yet/he's only two, but just give us a little time (and that extra Woody & Toy Story Book I have tucked away). Everything will fall into place per the Lord's time. I guess, my sweet girl, we were just made to love youngin's!
